Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy is a way to work directly with trauma where it is stored in the body. When we go through a traumatic experience, we naturally go into fight, flight, or freeze mode in order to protect ourselves. If the trauma is not resolved, our bodies can stay stuck in this protective mode, which profoundly influences how we interact with the world. By listening to and working with what is happening in the body during therapy, clients can begin to feel safe inside their own skin, resulting in a new freedom to move forward in their lives. |
